Welcome to PlaneSense, Inc., home of the PlaneSense® program! Our training program has been designed to qualify you as a top notch First Officer in the state-of-the-art Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. PlaneSense, Inc., as manager of the PlaneSense fractional aircraft ownership program, has a long history of providing safe and reliable service for the largest fleet of PC-12s in the world. Our pilots, in conjunction with our maintenance and flight operations teams, are the ones who make that happen. We look forward to your contributions as one of our valued crewmembers upon completion of your training.
The First Officer training program has 4 stages:
1. First Officer Initial Ground School: An 8-day class on PC-12 systems, FAA regulations, Company manuals, IFR and GPS procedures, Safety, CRM, and company policies and procedures, conducted at company headquarters in Portsmouth, NH
2. Initial Flight Training: 8 hours of flight training is conducted with company Instructor Pilots utilizing a PC-12 Flight Training Device at SimCom in Scottsdale, AZ and approximately 1 hour of flight training in the PC-12 aircraft at company headquarters in Portsmouth, NH.
3. Initial Second-in-Command checkride in Portsmouth.
4. Initial emergency training conducted at Survival Systems in Groton, CT.

Please note that several of these courses are required prerequisites; others are optional. Be aware that Safari does not natively support downloading FTP files so if you are using Safari, you will require a plugin or a third-party FTP client.

Reading Material
You do not need to read all of these documents before coming to class! The document you should focus on is the Pilatus PC-12 Pilot Information Manual. In particular, read the “Limitations” and “Description” sections. Please memorize the speeds and weights for the PC-12/45 and PC-12/47 aircraft before coming to class, utilizing the Speed Card under “PlaneSense Documents”.

The on-line courses below must be completed before the first day of class. They can be completed from any computer, and should take only a few hours to complete. If you do not have access to a computer with internet access, please notify the Training Department and we will make arrangements for you. We have had some reported issues with the Google Chrome browser, so please use an alternate browser. Your user name and password will be given to you by the Training Department.
