The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining cloud and on-premises applications, servers, storage, and network equipment. The position reports to the Director of IT and will be expected to plan, install, configure, and manage all aspects of IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective delivery of services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Respond to service tickets in a timely and professional manner.
- Build, configure, and support computers, servers, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals.
- Install, support, and upgrade software applications deployed to computers, servers, and mobile devices.
- Help identify and resolve all hardware and software technical problems that impact production services. Keep affected users informed as to the status of the problem until resolution. May require after-hours or weekend work.
- Create documentation and knowledgebase articles for team members to aid in cross-training and consistency in work efforts. Keep documentation up to date.
- Participate in group discussions related to resolving common issues and escalate/collaborate with IT staff in other areas as necessary.
- Provide end-user training on proper techniques and procedures to effectively complete their work as it relates to information technology.
- Work with external vendors to resolve hardware and software issues.
Qualifications:
Experience with:

- Cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle.
- Hypervisors like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
- Switching and routing vendors like Cisco, HPE/Aruba, or Juniper.
- MDM solutions such as Intune, Jamf, or Iru (Kandji).
- Configuration of Identity and Access Management platforms like Entra or Okta.
- Knowledge of monitoring solutions like PRTG, Nagios XI, or Prometheus.
- Experience in an agile environment and working with tools like Jira, Basecamp, or Trello.
Education and/or Experience:
- B.S. in Computer Information Systems, or related field.
- 8-10 years’ experience in IT systems administration or systems engineering roles.
- Certifications in Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure, Jamf or others a plus.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
