Aircraft Inspector – New Hampshire

Atlas Aircraft Center, Inc., the sister company of PlaneSense, Inc., is seeking an Aircraft Inspector for its dynamic Inspection Department.

The Aircraft Inspector ensures the safety and airworthiness of all aircraft by conducting the proper inspections for Atlas Aircraft Center and PlaneSense, Inc.  in accordance with applicable technical data, industry standards, and procedures contained in the Atlas Aircraft Repair Station Manual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure comprehension of assigned task(s) before initiating the inspection. If necessary, communicate concerns or questions with the Chief Inspector
  • Perform all inspections (including RII) in accordance with applicable technical data, industry standards, and procedures contained in the Atlas Aircraft Repair Station Manual
  • Perform inspections with the highest quality of workmanship avoiding any act which may endanger personnel or cause damage to equipment and articles
  • Perform all inspections using proper tools and equipment.
  • Ensure all articles and materials used in the maintenance process are in an airworthy and serviceable condition.
  • Ensure that calibrated tools used during the maintenance process have not surpassed their calibration cycle.
  • Ensure that all parts and materials used in the maintenance process that contain a shelf life have not surpassed the manufacturer’s expiration limits; and that the proper documentation exists to provide traceability.
  • Notify the Chief Inspector immediately of any condition that arises which might represent a problem or unsafe condition.
  • Ensure Work Order forms are completed in accordance with the instructions contained in the Atlas Aircraft Repair manual.
  • Other duties as assigned

The work environment consists of a climate-controlled hangar, with occasional outdoor work.  There could also be occasional travel for AOG work as needed around operating area domestically and internationally.

 Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Must hold a valid A&P License and have quality and inspection background.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Corporate and or General Aviation Experience, with five plus years of turbo propellers or jets experience.
  • FAA A&P License and have prior quality and inspection experience
  • IA Certificate Preferred
  • Company-paid Pilatus, Pratt & Whitney and Williams International training may be necessary

Computer Skills:

The inspector should have knowledge of or be able to learn MS Office, Corridor, Crystal Reports and other aviation related software.

 Other Requirements:

  • Willing and able to work any shift assigned at the time of hire, which may include day or evening shifts. Schedules may also include weekends and holidays based on operational needs.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing
  • Must pass a background check including a government required fingerprint-based criminal history records check to be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA Badge.
  • Federal law requires Atlas Aircraft Center, Inc. to acquire an applicant’s history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive role
