Avionics Technician – New Hampshire
Atlas Aircraft Center, Inc. the sister company of PlaneSense, Inc. is seeking an Avionics Technician for its headquarters in Portsmouth, NH.
The Avionics Technician is responsible for performing maintenance as assigned. Responsibilities include installation and testing of aircraft electronics equipment and systems. Regular duties consist of fabrication, termination and testing of avionics system wiring harness, and the disassembly and reassembly of aircraft interior and instrument panels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure comprehension of assigned task(s) before initiating maintenance. If necessary, communicate concerns or questions with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform all maintenance in accordance with applicable technical data, industry standards, and procedures contained in the Atlas Repair Station Manual.
- Perform maintenance with the highest quality of workmanship avoiding any act which may endanger personnel or cause damage to equipment and articles.
- Perform all maintenance using proper tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the manufacturer’s safety precautions are taken before initiating maintenance.
- Complete Work Order package forms in accordance with the instructions contained in Appendix A of the Atlas Repair Station Manual.
- Notify the appropriate Supervisor immediately of any condition that arises which might represent a problem or unsafe condition.
- Own and maintain sufficient hand tools to perform duties efficiently and effectively
- Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe and orderly condition.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Own and maintain sufficient hand tools to perform duties efficiently and effectively
- Ability to live and work in the United States without any restrictions
- Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass a background check including a government required fingerprint based criminal history records check.
- Valid state driver’s license
- Carries or can obtain a valid U.S. Passport for training purposes
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge.
- Willing and able to work different shifts consisting of days, evenings, holidays, and weekends
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years General Aviation avionics experience preferred
- FAA A&P Certificate Preferred
- Possess excellent troubleshooting skills in modern turbine powered aircraft.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and installation technical data
- Pitot/static experience preferred
Computer Skills
- Excellent computer skills – Ability to utilize specialized computer programs to interpret system failures and diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.
