Payroll Administrator

Location: Portsmouth, NH

The Payroll Administrator assists the Compensation and Benefits Manager in the processing for 375+ salary, hourly and commissioned employees by utilizing ADP Workforce Now and TimeForce.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Processes new hires, terminations, and qualifying life or work events
  2. Records and calculates new or changed pay rates and transfers within ADP Workforce Now
  3. Records and verifies payroll data such as child support, wage garnishments and all insurance options
  4. Works with Compensation and Benefits Manager to collect benefit payments and monitor employee leaves of absence
  5. Maintains personnel files, benefits administration, reconciles benefit invoices, records the accumulation and use of vacations, holidays, sick days
  6. Calculate deductions for group health, life, disability, and other insurance premiums and communicate to employees
  7. Assists with preparing government reports such as the EEOC, 12th of the Month, and Multiple Worksite
  8. Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy
  9. Works closely with all department managers regarding payroll matters
  10. Maintains confidentiality in all matters
  11. Assists with compliance of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  12. Assists in audits such as 401k, Workers Compensation, and Year-End

Qualifications

  • Must have strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
  • Experience with TimeForce/Quest time clock or similar software
  • Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education and/or Experience                                         

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • Experience working with ADP payroll processing service
  • Understanding of payroll and tax requirements
