Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator
PlaneSense Inc., a leading private aviation company headquartered in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a full-time Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join its Payroll Team.
The Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator assists the Compensation and Benefits Manager in the processing for 550+ salary, hourly, and commissioned employees by utilizing ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager. This position will ensure transactional excellence, compliance, accuracy, and efficiency throughout our payroll and benefits function, including payroll tax, benefits deductions, and leave administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Records and calculates new or changed pay rates and transfers within ADP Workforce Now
- Records and verifies payroll data such as child support, wage garnishments and all insurance options
- Works with Compensation and Benefits Manager to collect benefit payments and monitor employee leaves of absence invoicing
- Maintains personnel files, benefits administration, reconciles benefit invoices, records the accumulation and use of vacations, holidays, sick days
- Calculate deductions for group health, life, disability, and other insurance premiums and communicate to employees
- Assist in facilitating all leaves of absences with the employee, the leave of absence vendors for wage replacement and FMLA eligibility
- Process employee and retiree data, elections, additions, updates and changes within the HRIS system including payroll and benefits while complying with all regulatory laws and standards as well as Company policies and procedures
- Assists with preparing government reports such as the EEOC, 12th of the Month, Nevada MBT reporting, Multiple Worksite, and other state and federal required reporting
- Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy
- Works closely with all department managers regarding payroll matters
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters
- Assists with compliance of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Assists in audits such as 401k, Workers Compensation, and Year End
- Processes new hires, terminations, and qualifying life or work events in the absence of the Payroll Administrator
- Support the Payroll and HR departments with projects and additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
- Experience with ADP Workforce Manager or similar software
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs required
- Working knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail and organizations skills
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- CPP Preferred
- Experience working with ADP payroll processing service strongly preferred
- Understanding of payroll and tax requirements
